Both were born in Paris where they met, graduated and worked in the capital. During their travels in France, Claire and Franck discovered Bayeux and fell in love with this city of art and history. Determined to live there, they bought a former historic private mansion with accommodation, an artist’s studio, patios and chapel, which became a guest house.

Claire is the mistress of the place. She comes from a family of artists and was herself a musician (flute). Claire loves to hunt and decorate but also to discover our beautiful France through its architecture and history.

All accommodation with antique furniture and objets d’art from all over France and abroad.

Franck is a painter, draughtsman, decorator and musician (guitar) and has painted the frescoes and paintings of the Chapel and those of the other apartments.

Grandson by marriage of the Painter Engraver André Jacquemin, former member of the Institut des Beaux Arts de Paris, and Andrée JACLET, graduate of the Ecole nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs et des Beaux Arts de Paris, Franck JAMART permanently exhibits his paintings at the Hôtel particulier “le Clos de la Chapelle Spa” in Bayeux in Normandy where his painting studio is located. Some paintings belong to private French and foreign collections.

Franck Jamart has gold in his fingers. All you have to do to be convinced is to hear him play blues, rock or jazz on his guitar; or to discover his drawings, his watercolours and his oils on canvas.

Behind the wise appearance and the gaze has long burned the sacred fire of creation. A fire that never leaves him, judging by his prolific production and the eclecticism of his inspirations. Under his pencil or brush, the roofs of Paris take shape and colour, the Sacré-Cœur dome the banks of the Seine, the setting suns that set fire to Bayeux Cathedral, or the boats moving in unison with the Norman sky in the port of Honfleur.

Blessed are the artists: they are never bored because even their periods of inactivity are fruitful, filled with desires and memories. Franck Jamart is certainly one of them. By diving into his works, we embark with him on a journey through time and space that is rich in emotion.

We can only wish him good luck, with the hope that he will not drop the sails of his talent any time soon.
